Prophecy Fulfilled 539 BC - 330 BC
King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon was given a dream by God in Daniel 2. In his dream he saw a statue of a man having a head of gold, arms and chest of silver, waist of bronze, legs of iron, and feet mixed with iron and clay. In it, the Prophet Daniel revealed that the Babylonian Kingdom, represted by the gold, would be conquered by the silver arms and chest. This prophecy was fulfilled with the Medes and Persians united to become the Persian Empire and in 539BC the Persians conquered Babylon and a new king ruled the known world, King Cyrus II. He would also be the one to let the Jews return to their homeland since their 70 year Babylonian captivity.
